Cannabis Cutting

Cutting is one of the most popular ways to propagate a cannabis plant. Often called “cloning” is a very good method to obtain several cannabis plants that are genetically identical to the plant, “mother” of cannabis. Many people are intimidated by the process, and are a little leery of trying to “cloning.” If you’re one of those people, relax, is a relatively simple process.

WHY TAKE CUTTINGS:

There are several reasons that you want to clone a piece of equipment, the most obvious being that they have no seeds. Cloning may be the only option in this case. Another reason you might want to take cuttings is the quality control of the cannabis plant (s). Let me explain: Every seed, like every man is a bit ‘different. Genetically, no two cannabis plants are identical, the DNA acts of cannabis plants in much the same way as humans. So if you have a cannabis plant, which is exactly what you want it, you can take cuttings and “clone” of your special plant of cannabis. Over time, you can do on bazillion genetically identical clones, if you wanted.

One reason for the clone of cannabis plants that are often forgotten that it is often faster than starting from seed. Some of the cannabis plants produce roots, cultivation of marijuana plants clone before the seeds of the cannabis plant that will sprout up. It saves a lot of time.

You need the following instruments to perform the cannabis cutting process.

A SINGLE EDGE RAZOR BLADE – Must be sharp!! A new blade is best.

GROWING MEDIUM – Rockwool or Oasis cubes, Pro-mix, coconut fiber or one of several other suitable growing media.

SHOT GLASS – Or similar small glass or plastic container. Or similar small glass or plastic container.

BACK-UP BLOCK – A piece of Styrofoam, wood or plastic approximately 2″x2″.

ROOTING HORMONE – You will need a good quality rooting hormone such as Woods, Clonex, Olivia’s, Dip & Grow etc. You can use a powdered rooting hormone but in My opinion they are much harder to work with resulting in a reduced success rate.
